ONE LAGOS NIGHT 2021

Ehiz feels the remainder of his world come crashing down, when his girlfriend breaks up with him and his roommate Tayo, who works as a security guard, notifies him that they have been given an eviction notice. Out of frustration, Ehiz gives God an ultimatum of seven days to turn his life around, or he would make a deal with the devil. Ehiz stumbles upon a pistol on the morning of the second day. He wonders what to do with the gun, till Tayo tells him of a lady launders money for politicians with lots of cash at home. Ehiz is undecided about robbing the lady, till Tayo tells him the lady would be travelling to her village in two days. Ehiz hatches a perfect plan to burgle the lady’s house. However, unknown to them, a gang of armed robbers have heard of the lady and plan to rob her on the night Uche intends to burgle her apartment. The lady’s flight is cancelled due to weather conditions and therefore returns home. This brings them face to face with a woman they hoped they met under a different circumstance and with a vicious gang of armed robbers they wished they never met.

Cards and Roses

To fix his midlife crisis, he decides to start Cards and Roses, a custom greeting card and flower company where people call in to make personalized orders to their loved ones. This he believes will help people connect more and find happiness while showing gratitude to their loved ones; he hopes that in return he will find his own happiness through this. His life changes when one day a pregnant lady calls to send an unusual custom card to her supposed lover, a closer look reveals a series of similar custom cards from the same lady to her lover, each one more desperate for a reply. To get a clearer picture, he decides to deliver the card himself, only to realize the lover has moved and all the other cards are unopened and with the new tenant, he asks around, gets a forwarding address to deliver the cards but gets a shocker instead, the lover is a newlywed. Out of curiosity and with nothing better to do, he finds his way to the lady’s house to return the cards but ends up falling in love with this stunning beauty at first sight. Quietly, he drives away, knowing he will never be complete without her in his life. He decides to win this lady’s heart by sending anonymous cards as a secret admirer using his company. One day she responds via a phone call and they agree to go out on a date. While Ibim tries his best to hide his identity playing the commoners card, the lady reveals that she is infact Gbemi on radio. More dates and conversations reveal her history with the newlywed lover. On Ibim’s journey to finding love and beating the odds amidst the complications of their age difference, coming out with his true identity and revealing the truth about the unreplied cards, they experience a rollercoaster of emotions. With the clock ticking and every second counting, writing this love story becomes his only means of staying alive. He enlists Solape, his best friend since he has no experience on romance or love. They agree to play pretend and be the characters in the script in order to write what they believe would be a masterpiece romance movie. What seems like a perfect idea suddenly becomes a nightmare when a kiss and brush of bodies begin to unearth hidden feelings and emotions. What follows is a whirlwind of romance, hate, desire, denial and a price that is too heavy for both of them.
